Notes of Gratitude to NPS South Idaho Parks staff

Thank you for the many notes of support and gratitude for South Idaho NPS staff. Your kind messages were provided to and deeply appreciated by staff. Because there were so many, only handful of the notes are highlighted here.

This note is intended for all of the hard working and dedicated staff at the Minidoka NHS, Craters of the Moon, and Hagerman Fossil Beds sites.  Your tireless dedication and efforts to preserve these invaluable National treasures do not go unnoticed, however we do not acknowledge your efforts enough.

We often take your efforts for granted and that is a shame.  I for one would like to express my gratitude to each of you for a job well done.

-Keith Y.

My visit to the Minidoka National Historic Site was life changing in large part because of the work, care, and intention of the park rangers. As an American and an educator I can’t express enough gratitude for all that you do.

-Heather M.H.

Thank you so much for everything you do. From answering questions, sharing knowledge, making history come alive, applying first aid, keeping us safe, protecting sites and on and on. It is so appreciated, even if it is never stated. I have been so fortunate to have visited Craters of the Moon and Minidoka (prior to it becoming a historic site) and many other parks across the United States. I watched as my daughter became a junior ranger in Yosemite, to the moving scene of a park staffer assisting a blind person with white gloves to experience the Liberty Bell. We are all so blessed to have you all. Please continue to be our beacon and continue forward, inspiring and touching our souls. With immense gratitude.

Thank you for your heartfelt care and respect of this historic site.  My parents met here ... a bright spot in this incarceration story.

Dear National Parks Staff for South Idaho,

I live in Idaho Falls, Idaho. The guided tours of the Minidoka National Historic Site (MNHS) have been amazing. The staff is extremely knowledgeable, patient, and professional. I am so grateful that such dedicated people work for the Park Service in keeping alive our cultural heritage. The National Parks represent the best natural and historic properties in our nation. The value of such resources is priceless.

As a member of the Idaho Falls Japanese American Citizens League, we so appreciate the Park Staff that bring history into our present-day lives. Thank you.

-Jon O.
