Friends of Minidoka is the nonprofit philanthropic partner for Minidoka National Historic Site. Established in 2002, our mission is to preserve, protect, and educate about the lessons and legacy of the unconstitutional incarceration of Japanese Americans at the Minidoka concentration camp during WWII.

Award-winning film by Jon Osaki
Please join Friends of Minidoka and Minidoka National Historic Site for a screening of the award-winning documentary Not Your Model Minority, featuring a post-screening discussion with filmmaker Jon Osaki. In addition to his work in film, Osaki is a longtime social justice activist who uses storytelling to educate, organize, and inspire action.
This event is a meaningful opportunity for people of all backgrounds to reflect upon the legacy of the unconstitutional incarceration of Japanese Americans during WWII and our shared responsibility of dismantling prejudice to create a more equitable society.

In partnership with Idaho Falls Japanese American Citizens League, Museum of Idaho, Snake River Japanese American Citizens League, Four Rivers Cultural Center, and College of Idaho.
The Day of Remembrance commemorates the signing of Executive Order 9066, which led to the exclusion, forced removal, and unjust incarceration of over 120,000 Japanese Americans during WWII.
